August 2026 Product Update
September 21, 2026

In August, Synctera focused on expanding account capabilities, strengthening compliance operations, and improving payment monitoring.
These updates include:
- Adding Personal Guarantor and Payable on Death support to accounts
- Adding Document tests to Cable
- Enhancements to Payment Monitoring Dashboard
Adding personal guarantor support to business credit accounts
Synctera now supports personal guarantors on business credit accounts via a new GUARANTOR account relationship type. For FinTechs offering business credit cards, this closes a real gap in how business credit relationships can be modeled and reported. A personal guarantor is a person - typically a business owner or principal - who backs the credit obligations of a business account. With this release, that relationship can be formally captured on the account, so when credit activity is reported, the guarantor is represented accurately alongside the business. Synctera now models that directly.
The GUARANTOR relationship type is available via the Account Relationships API and is visible in the Synctera console alongside existing relationship types.
Adding POD beneficiary support to accounts
FinTechs can now designate payable-on-death (POD) beneficiaries on customer accounts via the Synctera API. When an account holder dies, the account balance passes to the named beneficiaries in their allocated proportions.
The implementation builds on existing APIs: a beneficiary is created as a person (no KYC required) and linked to the account via a BENEFICIARY relationship carrying an ownership_percentage . Multiple beneficiaries can be added, their percentages updated, or designations removed at any time without touching the underlying person record. Beneficiary designations are subject to bank approval, so confirm your program supports POD before enabling the flow.

Cable Document Tests
Cable, the compliance observability product in the Synctera stack, tests 100% of a program's customer and transaction data against the controls in each framework, flagging any subjects that don't pass. But some requirements can't be evidenced that way. A board-approved policy document either exists or it doesn't, and no amount of account data will prove it. For many compliance teams, that half of the framework has lived in a shared drive, tracked in a spreadsheet that someone had to keep up to date.
Document tests cover it. A document test is satisfied by a document rather than by data, and sits against the same controls and frameworks as everything else in Cable. Each one states what it checks and what the evidence needs to show.
Status and renewals are tracked automatically. A test shows as Passing, Due soon, or Needs evidence based on whether current evidence is on file and when it expires, so a lapsing AML policy surfaces while there's still time to renew it.
Evidence is never overwritten. A renewal sits alongside the document it replaces, and no one in the organization can delete either. When an examiner asks which policy was current two years ago, the answer is on the page. Each test has a named owner, who is notified in Cable and by email. Every upload, owner change, and comment lands in a single activity trail on the test.
Compliance teams can add their own document tests for controls the Cable frameworks don't already cover. Cable uses AI to draft a new test's description from its name and control, and to provide a plain-language summary of an uploaded document.
For a sponsor bank overseeing a FinTech program, transaction testing and program documentation now sit in the same framework, with the same owners and the same record behind them.
Outgoing Wires - Monitoring Improvements
We have introduced enhancements to our Outgoing Wires tab within the Payments Monitoring dashboard to improve monitoring unification and auditability.
- For parent/descendant account relationships, Operational Teams can now see the parent account balance at the time each wire was sent (previously, only the direct account balance was surfaced, which did not provide ultimate funds availability confirmation within the page when the account was a child account).
- Outgoing wire returns are now visible in the same Outgoing Wires page.
These updates give Operations Teams a clearer record of what happened, and makes returned payments easier to find and manage all within the same page.
